What helps me answer properly

You don't need to prepare anything. But if the first message covers this, the reply comes back far more useful:

Your web address, if you already have a site.
What you sell, and which area or country you sell it in.
What you've already tried with SEO, even if it was a plugin and a quiet surrender.
Whether you want something one-off — an audit, the Google profile — or sustained work.

When you will hear back

I usually reply within one working day. I'm in the Canary Islands, an hour behind mainland Spain and the same as UK time for most of the year. Weekends I read little and answer less, and I'd rather say so than have you watching an inbox on a Sunday.
